Career counselors, resume writers, and staffing agencies are excellent for one-time, done-for-you support in a specific area of your career. But they don't help you build the skills necessary to adapt in the future. Every time your circumstances change, you'll find yourself in need of their support again.

If you're looking for holistic, long-term solutions to your professional challenges, a career coach is for you. I'm a one-stop-shop for career planning, resume building, negotiation, interviewing, conflict resolution, professional presence, and many other workplace skills. My goal is to make you so good at career planning and professional development that you never need me again.

These are the three guiding principles of my coaching style:

1. Everything about our work should be aligned with your personal values – and no one else's.
2. Everything starts with your mindset. It is only impossible if you believe it's impossible.
3. Any change I advocate for must be sustainable for you in your current context. 

With these principles in mind, I help you identify what's important to you, why, how to get there, and what actions to take to make progress and build momentum.

My approach incorporates the "what" and the "why." As we design a customized plan for you, I'll teach you the cognitive science behind why certain methods work and others don't. This gives you the tools to adjust your system whenever your circumstances demand it.

Because my approach is based in science, we'll focus on methods that lean into the way your brain naturally works. This creates a system that is both effective and sustainable.

A bit of both! I believe your personal and professional lives should complement and enhance each other. If one is too demanding or difficult, the other also suffers. Whether a client wants to focus on the personal side or the professional side, it's important to examine both to understand the relationship.

We may identify that changes need to be made on the personal side for the professional side to thrive (or vice versa). If we come to this kind of conclusion, I'm able to provide the necessary support because I have expertise in both disciplines.

A coach provides honest, expert support. Friends and family are well-meaning, but don't always have the skills and experience to get you to the next step. They also tend to avoid giving constructive criticism even when it's necessary, so as not to hurt your feelings. I offer a fresh, informed perspective and advice that prioritizes your long-term future over your short-term feelings.

A coach gives you structure and accountability. We meet regularly to develop and implement an action plan to achieve your career goals. Knowing that you've invested in my services and a session is coming up, provides additional motivation to stick to the plan.

A coach provides focus. The two top emotions associated with career challenges are frustration and overwhelm. Frustration comes from fixating on things out of your control. Overwhelm comes from an unmanageable number of options. I'll teach you how to redirect your focus to what you can control and how to quickly and confidently commit to a path.

A coach builds your confidence. When your career is out of alignment, it's common to feel anxious and insecure. You may feel doubtful about your abilities, potential, or professional outlook. I teach you to train yourself out of negative self-talk, reframe failure as learning opportunities, and to celebrate what you bring to the table.
